Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for the body. The right to food, food safety, food security is a Human Right. But if this food becomes the cause of our death then that is a big problem. Eating junk food and for that having a digestive problem, that is a problem. But if the food which we eat for our survival becomes the killer for us, then? Yes I want to seek attention to our agronomic system. Today we all know about the 'Pesticides', which are substances or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling or migrating any pest. But the main fact is that all these pesticides are actually poisons. I want to give an example, like if we are having a disease and for that taking a drug. we are consuming the drug for the mean time only. But if this drug becomes our daily food then? The same problem is happening here. we are using the pesticides not as a medicine for the crops but as a food for them. As a result the residues are residing inside them and all after that we people are eating them. I know this problem is not a big problem in developed countries or rather in a country where population is low, but in India this is a very big and dangerous issue. The growing population had earlier brought about the GREEN REVOLUTION in 1963, but this revolution introduced the poison to us which is still prevailing till now. Pesticide poisoning is a hiking problem in all over India. Farmers constantly are using the pesticides in a wrong way, and another major reason according to me are the pesticide manufacturing companies who are constantly exploiting the dealers and the farmers for their profit only.
I am no expert to give a solution for this problem. I know we cannot bang the use of pesticides and replace them by organic farming, due to the same problem- POPULATION. But there must be some or other ways to stop this spreading poison.
